Advertising and affiliate disclosure

This site displays advertising served by Google AdSense. Ads are selected and served by Google, not by this site. Neither the site nor its operator chooses which advertisers appear, and the presence of an ad is not an endorsement of the advertiser, their product or their pricing.

Advertising revenue is what pays for the site to exist. It does not influence the content of the calculators, the guides, or the default figures used in them. Every default value on the site is documented on the methodology page, including which figures are assumptions rather than sourced values.

Google's use of advertising cookies is covered in the privacy policy.

This site currently has no affiliate relationships and earns no commission from any link on it. Links to charging networks, apps and manufacturers are ordinary links, included because they are useful.

That may change. If this site enters an affiliate arrangement in future, the rules below will apply from the day it starts, and this page will be updated to name the arrangement.

The rules this site will follow

• Any page containing an affiliate link will say so on that page, above the first such link — not only here.
• An affiliate relationship will never change a recommendation, a ranking, a comparison table, or a default figure in a calculator.
• A product will not be added to a comparison because it pays a commission, and one will not be left out because it does not.
• Affiliate links will be marked with rel="sponsored" so they are machine-readable as such.
• Where a commission would be earned on a product that this site does not think is the best option, the better option will still be named, and named first.

This site does not publish sponsored articles, paid reviews, paid guest posts, or paid links. No page on this site has been paid for by a third party. If that ever changes, any such page will be labelled as sponsored in its heading and excluded from the calculators and comparison tools entirely.

• It does not accept payment to alter a calculator's defaults or a comparison's results.
• It does not receive payment from electricity retailers, charging networks or vehicle manufacturers.
• It does not provide financial advice. The figures here are estimates to help you compare options, not a recommendation to buy anything.
